ELASTIC
What it is:A stretchable fiber, yarn or tape generally made from natural or synthetic rubber (known as an elastomer). A synthetic, such as spandex, has all the stretch and recovery of natural rubber. The lingerie connection:Usually covered with another fiber, yarn or fabric, elastic is found in a lot of lingerie—from bras that stretch to panty waistbands and legbands that “give.” Elastic revolutionized intimates, but it’s sensitive---any elasticized items should be air-dried. |
